Okay so I'm from the North and never had the cobbler, ?shrimp and grits ?, pig feet ?… so it is possible… smh… for Thanksgiving we have pepper steak and Fried Turkey… I want a Southern Style Thanksgiving ?
Look at my profile picture – my Mama's been making all of this since I was a child. This is Southern food and if it is "Soul Food" don't try and tell me my Mama couldn't make it because of what color she is. That just ain't right
The barbecued pig's foot was interesting. Where my family is from, an animal's foot (whether it be a pig's foot or cow heel) is usually boiled for hours in a soup or stew. The marrow and collagen from the foot will give the broth an incredible depth of flavour. I never thought to barbecue it. Will have to give that a try one day.
