Only semi related but one time someone posted a video of a guy butchering a whole cow from freshly killed to ready to cook joints and such. It was a pretty tough 20 minutes to sit through, but it was really interesting.
Just got home from work, where I spent all day doing exactly this. Funny to see an HD video on the front page going through a normal day’s work for me. We do a few things differently but for the most part this is a very accurate depiction of breaking down a hog.
I love that small butcher shops are making a comeback. No matter how advanced we get, it’s nice knowing that people are still wanting to take up this trade.
My wife and I had our rehearsal dinner at Wyebrook farms and have been a few other times, it is delicious. If you are near by I would suggest checking it out. http://wyebrookfarm.com
this series is great. I really enjoyed the one with the cow.
This is such a good series. I can’t wait to see what they come up with next!
But where is the bacon
Brace yourself. The vegans are coming.
I’d like Mads Mikkelsen to narrate this.

Well, I didn’t think I would watch the whole thing, but here we are 20 minutes later and I know more about a pig carcass than I ever thought I would.
I’ll always love you Pork Bowl!
.
Wait it’s called an aitch bone? I just thought it was H Bone >.>
They say the only part of a pig you can’t use is the squeal.
Why can’t you eat the lungs?
I’ll take that shoulder cooked low and slow for about 9 hours, yum.
I expected him to wear the pig face Hannibal style for some reason

The fuck did I watch that whole thing for. Pork is probably my least favorite meat…
That was very soothing to watch.
Now I’m really hungry…
On a side note…. How many people eat the fat like me? And how many think it’s disgusting. I think it’s the best part. All the flavor is there.
Not enough time spent on the belly, 9.5/10 would watch again.
That’ll do pig, that’ll do.
Brick Top would be proud.
I guessing /u/lnfinity isn’t happy about this video getting traction.
Getting a Binging With Babish vibe from this dudes voice. Very soothing.

Yup seems about right
So much fat shaming in that video. Stop cutting it all off. Fat is beautiful.
I’m now disturbed and also hungry.
As a girl from Wisconsin, who deer hunts, guts and butchers her own deer. This was fun to watch and it’s getting me excited for hunting season 🙂
How are there not flies swarming this thing while he butchers it?

Hey, that’s a half a pig, not an ENTIRE pig, OP!
Very interesting thanks for the post!
Huh, that was a nice vide-
>and now we’ll break down the belly
THERE’S MORE???
I’ve always pictured aliens doing this with abducted humans. Home cooking shows and how to filet your human in 5 steps.
Anyone got a vid like this but on a human?
PETA does not approve this
He forgot to mention the boned out head makes a great halloween mask.
Well that was quite tasty!
My question is, why is he wearing only one glove when he touches the meat with both hands?
