When we’re entertaining we have a few recipes we always go to. Sure we’ll also add something with a twist next to it, but we always include one of our staples. This fresh guacamole recipe is one of those staples. It’s easy, it’s fresh and no matter what else we serve with it, it’s always the first to go.

  1. This was a nice simple recipe..I used parsley and for the first time a small amount of cumin.., will build up to the taste as I go..the idea of onion in warm water was a good one..I might grate the onion the next time..I find that trying things I am not used to I will go for the smallest amt. ..you can always add more and I used lemon instead of lime…Really happy with the results..

  2. I never thought of adding cumin even though I use cumin for all my other Mexican dishes. I will definately use cumin next time and forever after.

  3. You could just stab the pit with the sharp side of the knife (not the edge) and if it's in the pit, twit the knife and pull the knife out and the pit is gone without wasting any avocado.

  4. For the avocado there is a trick to getting it all out quick and easy including the seed. Gently squeeze the sides and the seed will pop out then do the same thing and the rest will fall out. This might be easier than using a spoon.
