  1. Among other crimes in London moped crime is an epidemic and this tactic seems absolutely justified to me. Some officers are being investigated over this tactic right now. Hope they’re not punished.

  2. This has been gaining traction for the last week or so here in the UK.

But there’s also a case of an officer possibly [facing charges](https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.bbc.co.uk/news/amp/uk-england-london-46440172 ) for injuries sustained by a teenage moped thief.

It’s tricky because on the one hand the Met Police say these are highly trained officers using a new tactic that’s intended to demobilise criminals on mopeds in as safe a manner as possible, but on the other hand an injury happened and the officer is possibly taking the hit.

I mean, shit Mr Sherlock; injuries are likely this way. I’d hope there’s some form of leniency for the fact the guy was injured during police pursuit for suspected crimes, unless the cop was overly aggressive in hitting him.

  3. So it’s just common sense then. “A carefully controlled tactic” or just run the fuckers over. Play GTA and you’re all trained up to perform this carefully controlled tactic. Fair play though. Common sense prevails.

  4. As a Londoner i haven’t got a single problem with this even in the slightest. And i hope they are also charging the moped thieves for any damage caused to the police car as well!
