I really thought the days of downloading mouse cursors were over. I still remember the dinosaur.
I don’t see the point anymore. At almost any given time it is a blur to us the way we work nowadays. And we never have to wait so much that we need an entertaning mouse cursor.
If you’re having issues installing these on a work machine, or other computer you don’t have admin rights to, you can install the cursor’s manually in the cursor settings and save as a theme. Takes 5 minutes and it really is a much nicer set of cursors, although the multi-color hourglass wasn’t for me, so I used the mono set. Looks MUCH better than stock windows 8.1 (my work laptop). Re-enabled shadows, and it looks really slick.
The most viewed shape is a mouse cursor? Yeah, thats a big absolutely no way. Th windows background might be the most viewed photo but photos were invented very recently in a historical sense. Shapes are as old as human perception. Photos are as old as 1826-1827ish. (Loved the rest of the video tho)
I found it really interesting to see the mouse the first guy was using, with the cord coming backwards from the mouse instead of forwards. it makes the “mouse” name make way more sense since the tail is coming out on the back side.
Edit: Also, if your work colleague ever leaves their PC unlocked, a good prank is to change the default pointer to the “Loading” pointer. Confuses the fuck outta them.
That hourglass is frustrating, it cycles the wrong way, as if the sand is going up not down like a real hourglass would. Don’t know why he would make that design choice.
I’ll try the new cursor design for a while. One thing that is noticeably different is the line thickness of the cursors. The text select tool might be the only one I find unpractically thick.
If you’re at all interested in the Alto then try [curiousmarc’s channel where they completely restore and demo an Alto](https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL-_93BVApb58I3ZV67LW3S_JEMFnDrQDj) and its software, some pretty interesting stuff and likely some of the same applications that were shown to Apple way back then.
Hey, at least they actually give you the option to change the mouse cursor in Windows, unlike another OS, but be my guest, complain about it for some reason.
Where can I download the hourglass?
Actually top notch content. Deserves more views.

This is excellent! This dude clearly gets UX design, why doesn’t Microsoft hire him to fix their poor quality cursors?
Fascinating, actually.
I like how the guy apologized for calling it a mouse. Like oh geez these computer people are silly, but we call it a mouse, I hope that’s alright.
That background music was freaking me out so i had to step out.
What a fantastic video. Thouroughly enjoyed it.
I like them… wish I could make it a little bigger though.
The moment I heard the voice I thought I’m going to learn about true facts about the cuttlefish.
thats really cool
Before watching this video I didn’t care much about the Mouse Cursor. Now I very much care about the Mouse Cursor.
Thank You.
Fantastic work, really; just fantastic.
I think its tilted because its a lot easier to pinpoint what you are pointing at with a straight line going right to the tip.
The black version is beautiful
That was one of the best videos I’ve seen this year. Thank you!
ErycTriceps is that you?

This video really clicked with me
This guy sounds so dutch
He bass boosted his voice WAY too much…
I need that middle finger cursor design

that was so relaxing

FYI, [on his website](http://www.michieldb.nl/other/cursors/) you can get the middle finger pointer… 😀

Amazing video only thing I didn’t really like was the hourglass a little too busy and weird in my opinion.
I remember those old days…
I’ve really been enjoying using his black cursor after watching.
You know when you say a word too many times and it loses all meaning? After watching this video I’ve got that for my own mouse cursor.
Guess who got a black cursor now!
he sounds like mix of ZeFrank and Ahoy

Otherwise cool stuff.

Mouse cursor without tail is best cursor.
It’s a bit annoying that HaikuOS/BeOS uses hand cursor instead of arrow 😉
Anyone know how to install this cursor theme in KDE?

He gives multiple options for you to use.
I highly recommend the black one he is using himself. I find it much easier to ready and comfortable to view.
Hes trying too hard to have the golden british documentary on YT voice

This was such a good video! It had a lot of work and research put into it, and it shows. Thank you for making it! 🙂
I’m on the Like side of the fence on the hourglass cursor. That one looks super neat to me.
What a bizarre video. When the odd singing kicks in around 8 minutes in it went from .. I can’t believe I’m watching this .. to .. wtf am I hearing??
Why is there a green guy with big ears at 2:15?
Poor Xerox, they had zero concept of what they were sitting on.
As a boards of canada lover I can also recommend this music video by the same author: https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=1&v=DyI1BHFKeFU
I understand his frustration with Windows 10. Maak Windows beter!
Is there a similar video where the guy isn’t eating his mic?
