The moment Soyuz MS-10 rocket carrying crew to ISS malfunctions during launch

[THIS VIDEO](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CnQlj73NIm4) actually shows the footage from the ground when the rocket fails. Audio in Russian, but that doesn’t matter.
The news is reporting that the crew is alive, so that’s a relief.
Soyuz vehicles have failed on launch before. The vehicle can land pretty much anywhere (arguably better than a helicopter) so an outlanding doesn’t pose too many risks.
edit: according to the Stephen Baxter novel Voyage, the doll hanging from the instrument panel in the internal video is called Boris.
Reminds me of that time I was watching porn and my mom opened my door.
Mayhaps the core booster was damaged during the first stage boosters seperation. The Soyuz is incredibly reliable, this is unusual to be sure can’t wait for the full report.
The Soyuz capsule was able to abort in-flight and return safely to Earth. The crew has been recovered and is fine.
The issue was with one of the boosters not separating correctly.
Last night i rode a fair ground ride with my wife… At the highest point of the ride i was facing directly towards the ground and it made me feel uneasy as the giant swing started to descend with the rotation keeping me directly focused with the ground… That was one of the most scariest things i’ve ever done (I used to love them but as i get older they start to scare me)
I honestly can’t imagine what goes on with these guys as they feel a violent shake, suddenly thrown in their seats and then plummeted towards the ground just begging for the chutes to open and keep them alive. Crazy people and damn brave knowing that a single ride in one of these could be the last thing you ever do.
Is anyone other than RT carrying the story? Like the daily mail and other bullshit propaganda sites, I hate giving these guys clicks.
The Soyuz is an incredibly safe method of space flight, in that it has the ability to abort midflight and prevent the Cosmonauts from being killed from a potential accident.
>Due to a booster error, the spacecraft entered a ballistic descend and the crew landed in Kazakhstan.
Damn. So glad they are okay.
Actually no. Those pieces are normal, that was the separation stage. The booster just didn’t fire afterwards.
She stayed very calm. I would not have.
I wonder if that glint just below the rocket around 1:10 had anything to do with the failure
The moment the camera starts to go static, it looks like the astronauts are dancing lol
Why did I have to sit through 75 seconds of video to see “the moment” it malfunctions?
If you say “on papal v avariu” it would translate into “ he got into an accident”, not “he got into a malfunction”, I dont know how to say malfunction in Russian but its not avariya.

And with one soyuz damaged by a drill hole, there is going to be some problems for the ISS.
>The moment
Proceeds to post a 2+minute video without a timestamp.
Those LASs are no joke. You can pull an instantaneous 20g (at least on SLS’s). Crew would be unconscious, but alive.
