  1. I’ve never had venison before but god damn that hunk of meat looked amazing when he was cutting it. The stew looks like it came out great too! I’m making beef stew in the crock pot today so I’ll just have to pretend a bit. :B

  2. At the start: “Man, what a hokey green screen effect”
40 Seconds in: “Oh, he’s actually in a forest”

Nice change of scenery. Didn’t realize I was bored of his kitchen.

  3. That one tv hunter that joe rogan hunted with got trichinosis from bear meat. It’s permanent and it basically puts holes in your muscles all over your body. Since I heard about that, bear meat is a hard pass for me.

  4. Heads up to anyone who might want to try Bear Meat: The Alaska Depart of Fish and Game recommends cooking meat that might have trichinosis to 160 F, not 145.

If you want my opinion on eating bear meat, its not all that great. Berry season bear is said to taste better then fish season bear for obvious reasons. In the village I grew up in the men would say only old ladies eat bear, I still don’t know what that means. They used to ear frozen bear fat with seal oil, just as an FYI freezing does not kill the trichinosis parasite. Had no idea about that as a kid and am glad I didn’t get any parasites.
