Looks actually good, although I am a little sick of movies with the same 6 kids in it (or a group of kids in general as the main people, I only know the main kid in this trailer).
As a die hard Ghostbusters fan, this trailer excited me.
For those saying it looks too serious – a) the last attempt at a GB film tried too hard to be over-the-top silly and failed b) they are drifting the Ecto-1 through a corn field and c) chasing a ghost while firing a seat-mounted proton pack while racing through a town.
Let’s also remember, the surviving original cast will have cameos, and the director is the son of Ivan Reitman who directed the original 2 GB films.
Finn Wolfhard goes from dressing as a ghostbuster, to running away from demigorgons and a scary clown, to finally fighting the ghosts as a ghostbusters. Dudes gonna be in the avengers soon enough.
Anyone else enjoy the line “There hasn’t a been a ghost sighting in 30 years” as a nice subtle reminder and ‘F*ck You” to the 2016 movie that it isn’t canon and doesn’t exist??
I don’t mind a younger cast, but not that young. We’ve had too many “group of kids saves the world from the supernatural” lately in media. It just seems like stale ground at this point. It should have been college-age kids, or something.
Like students on campus recruited by their older professors.
This definitely has potential. Really hope this is as good as it looks. Kind of impressed they resisted the urge to tease the surviving ‘busters. I hope that the movie doesn’t forget to be fun- that’s what makes the first one so great.
I’m a huge sucker for the Ecto-1 car and man that part at the end with the siren sound was great. Trailer ppl know how to make you excited haha.
I really appreciated the scenes of Paul Rudd freaking out over the equipment. One of the big reasons I fell in love with Ghostbusters as a kid was seeing their insane technology. I was in love with the backpacks, the ghost trap, the detector and thought they all looked heavy duty and REAL. Seeing those props get the love they deserve makes me happy.
Last I heard though I thought the OG crew (minus Ramis) were doing this film but this looks to be about the grandchild and friends.
I was under the impression it was going to be Paul Rudd and a new adult cast as the Ghostbusters which had me very excited.
From the looks of this you could just photoshop proton packs onto the IT kids and have Pennywise be the Staypuft Marshmellow man. Even the color filter makes it look like the town of Derry.
Just noticed the abandoned Mine shaft area is named Shandor, like Ivo Shandor the building architect from the original film. Maybe this a backup Gozer worshipping site.
It almost sounds like a sequel to the first one, are they ignoring the Statue of Liberty walking in number two, or Central Park turning into a supernatural hellscape in the video game (which is cannon)?
*looks at pile of donut holes*
“lol, they filmed in Canada, those are Timbits…”
– Internet search, filmed in Calgary…
“Dammit, i can tell timbits from others, wtf is wrong with me…”
So far I’m not entirely sold.
It looks a hell of a lot better than the last one, but I feel like not using the Ghostbusters theme song in the trailer was a huge missed opportunity.
this is a much better way to pass the torch then the … other one from a couple years ago…
Is that the same gargoyle form the other movie that landed on the hood of the car?
Haha I like how they are just pretending like the other one didn’t happen.
There is always something endearing about a kids adventure movie (goonies – sandlot – super 8 – stranger things). I love em!
Wayyyy better than the last one it looks like. Fucking Paul Rudd and the kid from Stranger Things? Down
Seems like it’ll be a pretty fun movie, I’m excited to see it.
I was ready to shit all over this but it actually looks pretty good
IS THAT GIRL EGON AND JANINES GRANDAUGHTER?!?!?
The fact that it is Egon’s grandson makes me irrationally happy. I am stoked that this is a continuation of the originals and not a straight reboot.
Ghostbusters with the Stranger Things treatment… might be alright?
This is how they should have brought it back to begin with.
The presentation of this trailer is giving me some The Force Awakens vibes

I am cautiously optimistic.

Oh crap, another Ghostbusters after the trash that was the last one…. *watches trailer*

You son of a bitch, I’m in.
They shouldn’t have set it in Oklahoma. All of those scenes are so unmistakably Alberta.
I haven’t really been following this franchise. They did a reboot with all women and that bombed, and now it’s all with kids?
This looks like an interesting take on the franchise, I might watch it. Didn’t watch the last one, but I am pretty sure I watched all the originals

2 years ago at the board meeting…
-Well, Girlbusters didn’t work…but the public is going to love KIDBUSTERS!
-Why dont we make something ne–
-Shut your fucking mouth!
“I bet the comments are all shitting on the last movie”
“Yep”

Wow eh….that looks good?

Its canon, boys and girls
Little skeptical of putting the kids in the fore-front, but hey, that trailer was cool as sheeeit
So… Stranger Things wrapped in a Ghostbusters package.

Can’t wait to see the “mac and me” highlights on Conan…
I mean this is probably how you do a sequel after all this time but the first two were comedies.
They included a joke or two in the trailer but they’re like the jokes from ‘Room’. The overall tone looks grim and that’s …. not Ghostbusters.
“There hasn’t been a ghost sighting in 30 years.”
THAT RETCON THO HOT DAMN & SPICY
Holy shit, this looks good 🙂
HELL YEA

Get ready for Paul Rudd to show a movie clip of this on Conan.
