  1. I tried it and too much liquid to rice ratio..will try it again with suggestions from the comment section to watch for the liquid to rice ratio. I usually know better when I’m making just rice. Thanks for the video!

  2. Oh my God, oh my Jesus, oh my Lord!! I am loving your channel. I can’t wait to try my hand at each and every one of your meals (and trust you me, I WILL)! Tonight I marinate my chicken thighs and soak my red kidney beans to start off. I’m going to make your Jamaican rice and “peas” and Jamaican style brown chicken too. Can’t wait to share the results. Enhorabuena!!!! Estás haciendo un gran trabajo, y soy un FAN – with capitals! Kudos from Spain.

  3. Please remove "Jamaican" from the title because what you've done in this video is tantamount to sacrilege. Call it peas and rice cook up or something but not Jamaican rice and peas. SMFH

  4. I followed this recipe to the letter and oh man it is so good! I used a Ghost pepper because that's all I had but only left in for 5 minutes. Just got a little of the heat but all of the flavour! Thanks so much for sharing your recipe! It's amazing!

  5. Beans and rice work well together. If you have a pressure cooker, dried / soaked beans only take 20 mins to cook. Canned beans have absolutely no fiber !

  6. Do yourselves a favor and use 4 cups of water, the amount used in this video even though he said 5 at the end is insane, especially if you are going to pour another cup and a 1/2 of coconut milk. To be on the safe side you could use 3 because the beans already collected water over night. Do not leave the lid off at any point except if you are checking the rice at the end or taste testing the beans. Don’t boil the rice at the end, i don’t know why i followed that, just keep it on medium heat and drop it down gradually to lo. It burns easily. The rice washing process takes about the entirety of simmering the beans (55-60min) cause the rice will never run clear if you are meticulosas like i was. Just watch out how much water you use, better to have less ad add a little than ruin the entire meal. It hurts when it fails, but my second run cane out clean. Thank you

  7. I do believe Caribbean people (not from Jamaica) should stop cooking Jamaican food because you dont know what you doing. Stick to your own island recipe. Damn. Stop spoiling we cooking- mek people believe this is Jamaican authentic cooking.
