Lemmy gives advice to a black kid who is being picked on for liking metal
Badass. Never got into Motörhead much, but this makes me a Lemmy fan for sure.
Who would win in wrestling match? Lemmy or God?
God?
Wrong, Lemmy is God.
EDIT: I’m drunk, this is for who gilded me: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pWB5JZRGl0U
What kinda leads you want?
My chemistry teacher went to primary school with Lemmy. RIP to the both of them
“Lets all be coffee-ish”….. lol
TIL if we could all be a double double made perfectly, racism would not exist… Coffe-ish lol This guy is awesome
Not all Lemmys wear capes.
RIP
Rock on Lemmy
It warms my heart how much Lemmy loved Little Richard
Reminder that Lemmy got kicked out of Hawkwind for doing *too many drugs*.

The man is a monolith.
No man is an island,
Entire of itself,
Every man is a piece of the continent,
A part of the main…
Any man’s death diminishes me,
Because I am involved in mankind,
And therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls;
It tolls for thee.
It’s so strange that rock and roll used to be called “n-word music” and whites who played rock and roll were called “white n-words”. It was a genre that was seen as promoting desegregation by older whites in the 1940s-1950s. Metal music has both white and black influences in it. It’s a shame there aren’t more black (African descent) metal artists.
Edit: Thanks for linking all the bands, I’ll definitely have to check them all out!
I meant black artists as in African descent not “black metal” artists lol.. my bad 🙂
screw em, do what you want
He was such a wholesome dude.
RIP Lemmy
I’ve been on a Motorhead kick lately, and this made my day. His tone is brash and his words aren’t always the most articulate, but he was a really good hearted guy who did so much for the music community and is not appreciated as much as he should be.
I think the funny part is that Lemmy didn’t realize that even at this point, we had already “fucked each other’s brains out”. The idea that these distinct races exist is nothing but modern propaganda that reinterprets history and draws arbitrary lines. Very few communities are exclusively anything anymore, and I can’t think of a single one that would be considered ‘white’.
Lemmy was a fucking badass. The first time he met Dave Grohl, the first thing he said to him was “I’m really sorry about your friend” referring to Kurt. He always seemed like a nice down to earth guy.
[Source clip](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aaATX-7209c) it will hit you in the feels though.
My auntie was the bassist for ‘Girl School’ Motor heads warm up band for years. She spoke highly of Lemmy, but said the drummer was a piece of shit.
“Lets all screw each other till we’re all coffee-ish.” Couldn’t have said it better myself.
Ah yes, the ol [Bulworth philosophy](https://youtu.be/GfxL_wuYtSg). I can dig it!
If the bloody thing is ever gonna work out properly….then we all gotta screw eachother blind….damn it man if thats not a rally call if I’ve ever heard one..!!!!
Lemmy was always a good dude, and the embodiment of what rock and roll was. His [funeral](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BowkWFFZKpE) from when he passed in 2015 really showed how almost all the biggest names in rock revered him.
‘He’s Lemmy. You either take him or you fucking dont and he doesn’t give a flying shit whether you do or not’
Bad Brains were one of the first punk bad to get popular in 80s. And were all black
Shout out to all the other black fans of metal, alternative, grunge, or anything else you might have gotten picked on for liking because it’s “white”.
Fuck Dem Mu’fuckers.
“Should you be penalized for giving people joy? Screw ’em. Do what you want.”
Truer words have never been spoken.
As a black punk and metal fan, this warms every inch of my heart. Lemmy will always be the greatest.
Born to lose , live to win.
Fucking aye
The documentary about Lemmy was entertaining as hell and really helped you to realize just how different things were in his time and how the music and influence shaped what we have today. Chief lived life on his terms and no one had the balls to stop him.
Check out his previous band Hawkwind.
“No Motorhead I see.”
Lemmy is as funny as much as he is a class act.
Lemmy was a damn treasure and I’m glad he didn’t die at a young age. I miss him all the time. Socially he was a brilliant man. Musically he was a powerhouse. RIP.
Black adult here and the amount of crap I get for liking metal to this day is really annoying. I guess I’ll be a “white boy” forever 🤷🏾♂️
This hits home for me. I’m late and this will get buried amongst the other comments but here it goes.
I’m black and when I was in high school in the late 90’s I was a depressed teenager and hip hop just didn’t speak to me. So upon going to college I discovered rock and heavy metal. I listened to Korn, Metallica, Limp Bizkit (I know), Tool, Rage Against the Machine, Puddle of Mud, Staind, Pantera, Slayer, etc…etc. I was picked on for being a “white boy” and not black enough. But this music got me through some some tough times. Still does. But I’ll never forget being picked on for liking this style of music. That I wasn’t black enough for not listening to hip hop.
I remember reading somewhere that when asked about reading someone’s diary, Lemmy said you shouldn’t. That if you were digging through someone’s personal shit, you were looking for something wrong, so you were bound to find it. I can’t back it up, I’ve looked but it was some shit I read ages ago. Regardless, I remember my mind being blown. Guy rocked so hard, but his advice was spot on and he had a good head on his shoulders. I’ve never poked around anyone’s personal shit since.
I can’t find the clip, but there’s a video of him reading a letter a girl sent him about having a kid at a young age. He was really touched by the letter and talked about how deeply he felt it. Lemmy was a legend,
*”If you’re going to be a fucking rock star go be one. People don’t want to see the guy next door on stage; they want to see a being from another planet. You want to see somebody you’d never meet in ordinary life”*.
Lemmy was the real deal. Dedicated his life to his craft and practically died on stage. Here’s another funny little video of him before he passed. Never fails to make me laugh:

lemmy on the front page? Hell yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah
About 12 years ago I was working in LA across the street from the La Brea tar pits and I was headed out to lunch when this car pulls up and out pops Lemmy onto the sidewalk. I shouted out to him, “Hey Lemmy! You rock!” And without missing a beat he yelled, “You’re roight!” Makes me smile every time I think of it.
I’ve never heard of Lemmy (I got some digging to do) – but this hit me… you can see he understood what the kid was struggling with – but it wasn’t so much his response but that small bit when he says “I’ll write to him because I know you’re probably not watching.” That got me, that letter probably did so much for that kid. Wish I could hear his story (the kid). What a cool guy (Lemmy).
Fuckin’ eh. Spoken like a true metalhead. You want to feel at home, regardless of race? We’ve got you. Now that I’m older, I make a habit of making younger metalheads feel welcome. I can honestly say I wouldn’t be here today without metal, and the metal community as a whole. We don’t have room for the bullshit. Sure, there are racist metal bands, but they all fucking suck, and no one except fat white dudes goes to their shows.
When you fall in the pit, but don’t even touch the ground because some viking-looking behemoth hauls you up to your feet: You’re home.
No one can take that from you. It stays in your blood.
