Henry Ford's early cars ran just fine on plant based alcohol fuel made by simple farmers in the USA. You know what happened? Standard Oil and Rockefeller brought in the Prohibition Bill and made Ford and others make their vehicles unable to run on simple farm made fuel.
Diesels have been/are being killed off with ever more complex designs to meet the ridiculous made up environment emissions standards and the lie that car drivers want and need extreme levels of smoothness, low noise and high power. In reality a diesel of the 80s and mid 90s was perfectly adequate for everyone.
And bio diesel would be far better for the environment than fossil based fuel or rare earth element and chemical batteries, or probably even hydrogen.
And the old lie of we can't grow enough crops for fuel or that it will be immoral to use food crops for fuel is A. Nonsense anyway, high yield crops are mostly not edible, it would provide the poor in rural impoverished parts of the world with a cottage industry. B. Extremely high yields of Biodiesel can be made by growing on algae on sewage. And C. Its not like the poor of the world are getting much food, water or help in our current system anyway.

I thought the myth was economic and it is you pay for diesel fuel and the oil was free the fact you got 10% less distance is still no reason to have this busted. Now if you want to do a comparison myth yes it would be busted… i enjoy your show thanks guys .
Unfortunately if you get your tank dipped by a cnt err cop and you haven't declared to be duty taxed, there's a heavy fine penalty. Albeit the tax is 20 something pence per litre. Gov. Cnts will extort money from us one way or another. It is unfair considering none of us signed up to be involved in these retarded civilizations.
where i live biodiesel(70% diesel 30% coconut oil) is cheaper than veggie oil, ¢3 per litre vs $1,04 per 2 liters for veggie oil
don't you have to add something else to the oil before you put it in your tank?
curious if it matters if it is soy bean based oil or sun flower based oil. Lots of different type of cooking oils.

The catch is that you have to heat the engine up using diesel before you can switch over to veggie oil.

It only has to be 11% cheaper than diesel to beat the 10% loss in mpg to be a winner.
