My family is from Cape Verdi. My sister married a Jamaican, she has 3 kids with him, she stop almost speaking Cape Verdian and know speak Jamican. I can't understand a damn thing she says…and I can't eat all the devil hot spice scotch bonnet peppers…the first time I ate it I cried for 3 hours it burned the life out of me.. The music seems to lack all urgency and drive, and this poor unfortunate has no supermarket with countless selections in every aisle or an electric oven or stove to set the exact temperature to cook properly. But he seems to enjoy his primitive life, muttering about Natural this and that. He does time his cooking, so it's a relief to know that civilization is starting to reach even such outposts of humanity as we see here. ; )
