Ingredients

½ cup (115 g) unsalted butter, at room temperature
½ cup (100 g) packed light brown sugar
½ cup (100 g) granulated sugar
1 large egg, at room temperature
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 ¼ cup (185 g) all-purpose flour
1 Tbsp (7.5 g) cornstarch
½ tsp (2.5 g) baking soda
½ tsp (2.5 g) salt
1 ½ cup (262 g) chocolate chips
1 cup (100 g) lightly toasted, coarsely chopped pecans (optional)

Directions

1. Cream the butter with the brown sugar and granulated sugar together well. Beat in the egg and the vanilla.

2. In a separate bowl, sift the flour with the cornstarch, baking soda and salt. Add this to the butter mixture and stir until blended. Stir in the chocolate chips and pecans (if using).

3. Using a small ice cream scoop or a tablespoon, scoop spoonfuls of dough (about 2 Tbsp) shape them into a ball and place onto a parchment lined baking tray or a plate. Chill the scooped cookies for at least an hour, or once chilled, the cookies can be frozen for baking later.

4. Preheat the oven to 325ºF (162 C). Arrange the chilled scooped cookies onto parchment-lined baking trays, leaving 3 inches between the cookies. Bake for 15-18 minutes, until browned around the edges. Cool the cookies on the baking tray. If baking cookie dough that has been frozen, arrange the frozen cookies on the baking tray and let them thaw for 20 minutes at room temperature before baking as above.

Let cool slightly and enjoy.

  1. Hi everyone! Our channel will be changing and growing in the coming months, and we want to know what kind of content you want to see! More vegan and vegetarian options? Traditional holiday recipes or more adventurous recipes that will suprise your relatives at Christmas dinner? Let us know!

  2. An overall tip: The more chocolate chips you use (and we all love a lot!) you can cut down on the sugar in the actual cake. It easily gets too sweet otherwise.

  3. Helloo Anna this first time to see you channel and really its amazing I like it tooo much but I am arebic woman and I have problem sometime to know the recipe itam pls you can write the ingredients by english to be easy thx

  4. i remember my first time baking. i thought they should come out crispy the moment you pull them out of the oven so i cooked them more until i accidentally burnt them lol

  5. I just made the dough an it was soft an sticky. I couldn't form it into a ball to put in the fridge. I made 4 batches but not all at once. Sighhhhhhhhhhhh i followed everything. I put it in the freezer to bake tomorrow for a party. I'm hoping it don't be a disaster. fingers cross

  6. Oh my god, made them today. A little less chocolate, but I took some raisins in addition. They turned out so delicious. It will definitly be on the easter menue, because my grandpa has a sweettooth on my cookies ( a new recepie is always welcome). I've already made some for my colleagues as a christmastreat ( dried apple and cinnamon), omg they were awesome.

  7. I've tried few recipes for choc chip cookies, I have to say this recipes the best really ever as Anna said crunchy, chew delicious Thanks for sharing

  8. I've just discovered this channel, and will definitely be making this recipe. Can you guide me on the chocolate chips made specifically for baking in cookies? I don't believe that I've ever seen them in traditional grocery stores . . those in this recipe appear larger than usual. Thank you.

  9. Best cookie ever😁😋. Used a mixture of chocolate chips and chunks. After baking sprinkled some coarse salt ontop to balance the sweetness. Thanks for sharing 😘

  10. I have no idea how you managed to mix the butter and sugar like that. I tried and there were just blocks of butter in the sea of sugar so I just threw the "mixture" in the microwave lmao

  11. I really dont understand your insisting in this type of measurement if most of the world uses the metric system! Incluind Canadá! Not interested in doing math when I bake! Oh by the way, for those who think I am being nasty remember this is a business not a favor!

  12. Tried this night., maybe theres a difference with the sugars here in Philippines.. I followed the measurements as is, but it turned out super sweet., 🙂 so 1 cookie a day to surpass a bad mood day.. 🙂 tnx for the recipe Anna 🙂
