Playing The Fractured But Whole right now and there’s all kinds of racist humor. The whole sequence of events at the police station before you fight the boss there is hilarious.
In 2001, I met the guy my girlfriend’s sister was dating. I am white, he was black. We exchanged pleasantries and then turned the tv on. This episode of South Park had just started. Neither of us had seen it. When it got to that part I gasped and immediately looked over at him and he was dying laughing. To this day neither of us are dating either sister but our currently family’s get together once a year (he’s in Texas. I’m in Florida) and he is one of my best friends.
This cracks me up every time. Throughout the whole episode, there’s no mention that the wealthy people they’re trying to exclude are all black people, by some absurd coincidence.
The only one who seems to “get” what the audience sees is the Mayor, in her reaction to the townspeople dressing up like ghosts to try and scare the wealthy newcomers away.
They almost pull off a full-on Seinfeld (“Master of your Domain”), and then nearly, *nearly* blow it all to hell with Mr. Garrison’s virulent racism. Brilliant satire!
Matt and Trey talk about it in an interview that also includes an executive for Comedy Central. At first the network wouldn’t let them even hint at it, but eventually they allowed Garrison to start saying it before cutting away. They wanted to start the next episode with him finishing it before moving on but that got shot down. In the interview, which was a few years after the episode aired, Matt talks about seeing Blazing Saddles on CC in the mid afternoon and the N word is all over the place. The executive sort of just shrugs and says “…Yeah, sorry guys.”
As a white Irishman with zero black friends to ask, do black people find this stuff funny?
Cause I do and I need to know if I should be feeling Catholic guilt lol
Funny moment. Now the countdown begins for this post getting locked.
?t?…..time to leave
[removed]
I remember seeing this when it aired. My jaw literally dropped.
im just commenting so i can edit after this post is inevitably locked.
Edit 1: mods lock the thread please
Edit 2: goddamnit
I read somewhere that they wanted the first line of the next episode after this one to be “…gers”, but the network was having none of it.
And that same character is now playing the current US president. Crazy show for our crazy world.
They had many notorious endings in South Park. They could make a box set of them.
neighbors… right?
not bad
T is for time to leave cash chucker
Really? I thought nothing of this ending when I saw it. I thought it was funny and left it at that.
At least they got rid of those filthy ningens.
Let’s dress up as ghosts to make them think the town is haunted!
Damn, richers

Trey and Matt are geniuses

Can’t believe how old this show is and how I still love it
All those damn ni…njas
[Anyone remember this golden episode before it was an issue?](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SaicegAwPis)

“Have you lost your mind, can’t you see that man is a ni?”
[I think one of the best endings is in episode 201, but the speech is normally censored](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T_xlFInVcgU)
If we are going with race edgy comedy by white guys then [Mel Brooks sort of wins](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=upvZdVK913I).
Serious question: would South Park survive airing this episode in 2018??
