  1. I looked this up for my area actually and it varies state by state.

A bicycle or “low speed vehicle” does not need insurance and can be in the road as long as it does not exceed 20 miles per hour. This is pretty common across the US. For this reason a lot of manufactures will limit the motors ability to go faster that 18 or 19 miles an hour. It gets even more weird when there are whole companies that design the low speed vehicle to have peddles and make it look like a ninja motorcycle.

Here is an example of what I was looking at buying:

  2. Funny thing is, she’s actually right about the bike.

A motorized bicycle like that is, atleast in Oklahoma, considered a Moped for all driving laws if…

    – It has pedals and a motor and can be propelled by either.
    – It is an automatic
    – Motor is at max a 50cc
    – Cant get above 30mph under its own power.

If it meets those conditions then it is considered a Moped. It still has to be registered and tagged though.

  3. In California motorized bicycle

    CVC **§**406(a), it must:

    * Have **pedals** for manual propulsion by the rider (unless it is powered by an electric motor.)
    * Have an **automatic transmission**.
    * Have a motor that produces less than **2 brake horsepower.**
    * Be unable to propel itself more than **30 MPH** on level ground, including with assisted pedaling.

Motorized bicycles of type CVC **§**406(a) also require special license plates and identification cards

  4. I just love his tone.

“Come on, Andy – don’t do this. Stop Andy.”

Its like Andy’s his drunk roommate and he’s sick of dealing with her bullshit.

  5. we call em DUI-cycles, since they are the only thing habitual offenders who have lost their licenses can use to get around. im not sure if they’re 100% street legal, but the cops dont seem to care so long as they stay off the highway and out of traffic.

  6. 49cc or less is street legal without an endorsement in SOME States. Key part “Some States” if they didn’t run they may have been completed fine and actually had grounds file a legal complaint. But once you start running or acting like a ass, you’re kind of shit out of luck.

  7. If you were the other guy on the bike and the cop left like that would you be able to leave too?

I mean I probably would anyways but still

  8. In my country these are legal but do require insurance and if you turned 15 after october 1st 2009 than you need to get a drivers license for them (Max speed has to be limited to 25km/h if made after 2003 or 30km/h if made before 2003) you also need to make sure the motor is limited to 1kwh and can not go over that.

  9. Reminder that “Live PD” and “COPS” are basically just propaganda tools for cops. They’re also accused of coercing people to sign their release forms telling them that they’ll get lighter sentences if they do.

  10. The cop seemed like a nice guy and his patience is likely due in large part to being filmed but the when she started saying “please don’t take my bike it’s all I have” I couldn’t help but feel bad for her.

  11. This show is one of my guilty pleasures. I just found it a couple of weeks ago. It can have some boring parts but seeing this stuff live is just great.

I have no life Friday or Saturday nights most of the time.
